Dear Visitors,
Welcome to the Academie Da Vinci Web Site. Please use this site to keep informed of school happenings, to contact us, or celebrate the successes of our students. Our faculty and staff are committed to the mission of student achievement and social growth as we strive to reach even higher levels of student performance. Further, please use the links to access teacher pages (Staff Page) that serve as a tool to keep parents and students informed of tests, projects and classroom events.
Our PTA is planning an active school year and needs volunteers to assist with the multiple events they host on behalf of the children throughout the school year. Please plan to attend their meetings on the second Tuesday of each month.
Every event needs volunteers to complete major and minor work. Academie Da Vinci takes pride in our fantastic parent volunteerism, and we know this year's parents will exceed our expectations!
Every subject and activity in the elementary curriculum is important and challenging. This year we will augment each subject by weaving a writing theme through and across the curriculum: Write Away! Our teachers have come up with some unique and exciting ways to incorporate more writing into each subject. Families are encouraged to read daily with their child, and a portion of that reading should be the child's writings. It would be helpful for students in grades 2 through 5 to have a dictionary and thesaurus to use at home.
This school year, to be more earth friendly and to be more economically responsible, the weekly school newsletters will be posted on this web site rather than being printed and sent home. Likewise, I am encouraging teachers to communicate as much as possible electronically so that we can cut down on paper use.
