What is a Charter School?
Charter schools are publicly funded, privately run educational facilities. This means that there is no fee to attend the school and all students enrolled in the county are eligible to attend. A charter is a contract with the School Board that spells out our location, our educational program, and our target population. Charter school advocates believe that the charter concept leads to a school that is more responsive, and ultimately more accountable, to the parents who enroll their children there.
Academie Da Vinci is an independently run Charter School, which means it is not run by any management companies, service providers, or education management corporations. Instead it is overseen by a Governing Board of Directors comprised entirely of volunteers from the community.
Governing Board Meetings
The Board of Directors typically meets monthly on the third Tuesday of the month. Occasionally these meetings are scheduled on different days to accommodate schedules. Please check the school''s calendar for the date of the next meeting. Please see below for information on who is on our current governing board.
